My roles: UX/UI Design | UX Testing | Product Designer

1. Chose your bike

2. Find your route

3. Just tap

4. Bike joyfully!

The Challenge

8 weeks

We reimagined an electric bike rental service proposal, making a user-friendly and visually appealing experience while discovering innovative products for eco-conscious and adventurous travellers.

ROADMAP

User Flow

Baseline

The initial design was revised for testing, aiming to discover a more user-friendly direction and explore additional options based on user preferences.

User Testing

Testing

I opted for a low- fidelity prototype in the user testing phase. This simplified design allowed participants to comfortably suggest improvements that would enhace the product based on their preferences. I also prepared questions to turn the testing into an experiential interview, gaining valuable insights from users about their experience and preferences.

Analysis

Testing

The analysis of the user testing revealed valuable insights. The initial idea of requiring registration and adding credit at the start wasn’t deemed convenient. They favoured the option to explore the product without the need to create a profile. Users emphasized the importance of an effortless payment process and the need for real-time bike information. Additionally, the interest in cycling experiences highlighted an opportunity to explore the incorporation of bike-friendly routes.

Insights

Strategy

By drawing upon insights from user data and feedback, I tailored the electric bike rental experience to align with users’ preferences. These valuable insights not only refined the design but also reshaped the very essence of the product, ensuring it resonates authentically with the user’s needs and desires.

“Just tap and unlock the bike”

This is an example of one of the insights related to users’ preference for simplicity, expressing a desire to skip creating an account and opt for a hassle-free bike rental experience. Another notable insight transformed from a ‘nice to have’ into a pivotal development by emphasizing the importance of offering a full experience that includes bike-friendly route options: “It would be nice to see bike-friendly routes.”

Sketching

Strategy

Utilizing paper sketches as the initial form of prototypinh allowed me to retain flexibility in refining my new proposal. Serving as a foundational visual blueprint, this process facilitated the dynamic evolution of ideas, enabling seamless adjustments and improvements towards prototyping.

Wireframes

Prototyping

These wireframes bring conceptual clarity to the user experience, serving crafting an intuitive and thoughtful design. This exploration helped transitioning from abstract concepts to tangible structures in this stage of my process.

To maintain consistency and user-friendy design across my project I created tools to simplify the prototyping process.
